Our 1 1/2 inch tall, 12 - 15 hour beeswax votive candles are a very popular item. Most retail stores do not carry beeswax votives. We make them in the natural unscented beeswax and Bayberry & Cinnamon scented.
Triple wick pillars are some of the largest we have. Our beeswax pillars are hand made with old fashioned style metal molds. It takes at least 24 hours of pouring, cooling & manipulation to create just one of these candles. Larger square braided wicks are used in our cylinder pillars allowing the proper amount of wax to be fed to the flame. With this process we end up with a larger and longer burning candle.
Our 1 1/2 inch tall, 12 - 15 hour Beeswax Bayberry or Cinnamon scented votive candles. Very popular at Christmas.
Our Beeswax Early American Style Smokeless Tapers are hand made at our farm in Michigan. They are sold in pairs and are made by dipping them 20 - 30 times into hot beeswax. We have been beekeepers for more than 30 years, harvesting honey and beeswax and selling to the local markets.
Hand-dipped beeswax tapers are available in 6.5 inch, 9.5 inch & 12 inch lengths. The 6.5 inch tapers are slightly less than 3/4 inch and the 9.5 & 12 inch tapers are closer to 7/8 inch in diameter. The sizes vary slightly since they are hand made. Even the tapers in the same batch varies (we do loads of 30 pair at a time).
These tapers burn cleaner, drip and smoke less than any other wax, cleaning and purifying the air as they burn.
Beeswax is made from the Nectar of Flowers, burns with a sweet scent and purifies the air. Not polluted with dies or colors.
Our Beeswax comes from local Michigan beekeepers - a lot of beeswax sold on line comes from China. We refuse a lot of promotions trying to sell us cheap, polluted non-American wax.

Ancient Egyptians recognized the value of beeswax as a preservative, and early Romans fashioned coins from beeswax to pay their taxes. Invention of the candle dates back to about 400 B.C., but the idea to use beeswax to form candles didn't emerge until the Middle Ages.
What's the white cloudy film on my beeswax candle?
This white film, called bloom, is normal and occurs to all pure beeswax. This is caused because some of the components of the beeswax migrate to the surface. Bloom can be easily removed by wiping the candle with a soft cloth, applying gentle heat with a hair dryer, or placing the candle in warm sunlight. Even though the bloom is easily removable, many people actually desire this effect as it tends to give the beeswax candle a unique and rustic look and feel.

What causes a candle to smoke, and what can I do to correct it? Is candle soot harmful?
A well-made candle will create virtually no smoke when burning properly. However, if the wick becomes too long, or an air current disturbs the flame's teardrop shape, small amounts of unburned carbon particles (soot) will escape from the flame as a visible wisp of smoke. Any candle will soot if the flame is disturbed.
To avoid this, always trim the wick to ¼ inch before every use and be sure to place candles away from drafts, vents or air currents. If a candle continually flickers or smokes, it is not burning properly and should be extinguished. Allow the candle to cool, trim the wick, make sure the area is draft free, then re-light.

Since many people are becoming more unhappy with Facebook censorship and sharing your personal data - people are moving to other Social Networks such as "Diaspora". There are fewer people on Diaspora, but it is growing.
Instead of all of your data on a huge database, Diaspora uses "Pods" that are all over the country. Our pod is called "Natural News" which is health and farming related. Our information is only on this one Pod - not spread across the whole world, but our posts are viewed by all Diaspora viewers world wide.
Why do I need to choose a pod?
One of the greatest freedoms Diaspora offers you is the freedom to choose where your personal data is stored, by choosing a pod. Each pod has a different domain name, and is managed by different people on different servers in different physical locations. You're probably used to having no choice over where your data are stored when you sign up to a new social network, so it's likely you've never had to think about this before. Don't worry -- all pods connect to the same Diaspora network, and once you sign up you'll be communicating and sharing with users across all pods, not just users in your own pod. It's really just a question of where the content you share will be physically hosted, as a security and privacy concern.
There is also something "Aspects".
"Aspects of your life
Your life is made up of lots of different aspects, involving different people. Why should your online life be any different? With diaspora*’s aspects you can organize your online life as much as you want and share things only with the people you want to." (Our site has, family, friends, farm, work etc)

Ziaulhaq Ahmadi sits on the floor of his small, one-story house, a brown, mud-walled compound at the end of a dusty alley in Aqa Saray. Surrounded by vineyards, fruit trees, and snow-capped mountains, the village is a half hour’s drive north of Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital. With great gentleness, he taps on what looks like a sealed mud bowl until it cracks open.
Ahmadi, 45, reveals a handful of grapes from inside the mud container. They have been there, he explains, since harvest time, nearly five months ago, and kept for Nowruz, the Persian New Year, which is celebrated on the spring equinox. After all these months, his grapes still look perfect, and are perfectly fresh.
A proud smile forms on his wrinkled face. “We use an ancient preservation technique,” he says.
