Our 1 1/2 inch tall, 12 - 15 hour beeswax votive candles are a very popular item. Most retail stores do not carry beeswax votives. We make them in the natural unscented beeswax and Bayberry & Cinnamon scented.
Triple wick pillars are some of the largest we have. Our beeswax pillars are hand made with old fashioned style metal molds. It takes at least 24 hours of pouring, cooling & manipulation to create just one of these candles. Larger square braided wicks are used in our cylinder pillars allowing the proper amount of wax to be fed to the flame. With this process we end up with a larger and longer burning candle.
Our 1 1/2 inch tall, 12 - 15 hour Beeswax Bayberry or Cinnamon scented votive candles. Very popular at Christmas.
Our Beeswax Early American Style Smokeless Tapers are hand made at our farm in Michigan. They are sold in pairs and are made by dipping them 20 - 30 times into hot beeswax. We have been beekeepers for more than 30 years, harvesting honey and beeswax and selling to the local markets.
Hand-dipped beeswax tapers are available in 6.5 inch, 9.5 inch & 12 inch lengths. The 6.5 inch tapers are slightly less than 3/4 inch and the 9.5 & 12 inch tapers are closer to 7/8 inch in diameter. The sizes vary slightly since they are hand made. Even the tapers in the same batch varies (we do loads of 30 pair at a time).
These tapers burn cleaner, drip and smoke less than any other wax, cleaning and purifying the air as they burn.
Beeswax is made from the Nectar of Flowers, burns with a sweet scent and purifies the air. Not polluted with dies or colors.
Our Beeswax comes from local Michigan beekeepers - a lot of beeswax sold on line comes from China. We refuse a lot of promotions trying to sell us cheap, polluted non-American wax.
Your candles may have "Bloom" on them. This is the powdery looking finish that ONLY BEESWAX CANDLES CAN DEVELOP and will give them an antique look . It will usually appear after a few months in storage and can be wiped off if desired.

Ancient Egyptians recognized the value of beeswax as a preservative, and early Romans fashioned coins from beeswax to pay their taxes. Invention of the candle dates back to about 400 B.C., but the idea to use beeswax to form candles didn't emerge until the Middle Ages.
What's the white cloudy film on my beeswax candle?
This white film, called bloom, is normal and occurs to all pure beeswax. This is caused because some of the components of the beeswax migrate to the surface. Bloom can be easily removed by wiping the candle with a soft cloth, applying gentle heat with a hair dryer, or placing the candle in warm sunlight. Even though the bloom is easily removable, many people actually desire this effect as it tends to give the beeswax candle a unique and rustic look and feel.
10 reasons to choose beeswax instead of paraffin!
Beeswax candles burn cleaner than paraffin candles, producing very little soot.
Beeswax candles burn a lot longer than paraffin candles.
Beeswax candles contain none of the harmful chemicals sometimes found in paraffin candles.
Our beeswax taper candles are virtually dripless in normal draft free conditions.
The light emitted by a beeswax candle is much stronger and brighter than that of a paraffin candle.
Beeswax candles have a natural aroma and honey scent, no additives needed.
Beeswax is a renewable resource!
Beeswax candles can be burned around those with allergies or who are sensitive to strong chemical scents.
Natural beeswax candles support our beekeepers; our candles are created out of beeswax made in the USA.
Beeswax candles do not expire. Beeswax has been found in the pyramids virtually unchanged after 1000s of years.
What causes a candle to smoke, and what can I do to correct it? Is candle soot harmful?
A well-made candle will create virtually no smoke when burning properly. However, if the wick becomes too long, or an air current disturbs the flame's teardrop shape, small amounts of unburned carbon particles (soot) will escape from the flame as a visible wisp of smoke. Any candle will soot if the flame is disturbed.
To avoid this, always trim the wick to ¼ inch before every use and be sure to place candles away from drafts, vents or air currents. If a candle continually flickers or smokes, it is not burning properly and should be extinguished. Allow the candle to cool, trim the wick, make sure the area is draft free, then re-light.
Burn time is about 30 hrs. Comes complete with a gold metal lid for storage. Most of them are scented with fragrance oils. We use these a lot in our house - I like cabbage, fish and other smelly foods and these fragrance candles can help mask the scent!

Niagara grape wine is one of my favorite white wines. It is easy to harvest (the clusters are big and juicy), and easy to make wine from. I Think of it as a Eastern version of Moscato. (AND WE HAVE A LOT OF IT AVAILABLE - 12 - 400ft rows - over 1 acre.) It has a very nice grapey flavor (think Welches white grape juice) - Read the article...
Marechal Foch, Frontenac and DeChaunac are our main wine grapes - along with Concord for the Concord Wine lovers. + Marechal Foch - Small clusters of black, medium sized berries. On a different note - unplanned things always happen!
I had a medical issue I had to deal with in the spring and some weed control did not happen, so you may see a few more weeds in the vineyard in the fall.
Our soaps are all hand made without the synthetic dyes and fragrances that are in most commercial soaps.
They are made from vegetable oils using a centuries old process called the cold batch method which retains the skin softening effects of natural glycerine.
Glycerin is a humectant, which means it draws moisture to your skin, it is a natural product of cold processed soap; however Commercial soap producers remove the glycerin and replace it with synthetic chemicals. Cold processed soap retains all of its natural glycerin.
When pure honey is added to the soaps, the honey adds a golden brown color and makes a wonderful lather.
I found some nice stong colonies in one yard and will split them in May. I ordered 3 Saskatraz queens from Lappes Bee Supplyfor my splits. Notice how the queen is much darker than the golden yellow Italians that most people use.
These findings have been supported by additional research which found that “GLY at concentrations found in agro-ecosystems as a result of standard spraying can reduce sensitivity to nectar reward and impair associative learning in honey bees.” (Herbert et.al., 2014)
Last fall Mark (my son in law) along with a few of his friends picked 3 bushels of buffalo and some foch grapes. Recently his friends came over and picked up some of the wine. It was very good.
All we did was pick and crush the grapes, added wine yeast and pressed the must a week later, then 12 lbs of honey was added at that time. The wine was great with a little residual sugar left.

Since many people are becoming more unhappy with Facebook censorship and sharing your personal data - people are moving to other Social Networks such as "Diaspora". There are fewer people on Diaspora, but it is growing.
Instead of all of your data on a huge database, Diaspora uses "Pods" that are all over the country. Our pod is called "Natural News" which is health and farming related. Our information is only on this one Pod - not spread across the whole world, but our posts are viewed by all Diaspora viewers world wide.
Why do I need to choose a pod?
One of the greatest freedoms Diaspora offers you is the freedom to choose where your personal data is stored, by choosing a pod. Each pod has a different domain name, and is managed by different people on different servers in different physical locations. You're probably used to having no choice over where your data are stored when you sign up to a new social network, so it's likely you've never had to think about this before. Don't worry -- all pods connect to the same Diaspora network, and once you sign up you'll be communicating and sharing with users across all pods, not just users in your own pod. It's really just a question of where the content you share will be physically hosted, as a security and privacy concern.
There is also something "Aspects".
"Aspects of your life
Your life is made up of lots of different aspects, involving different people. Why should your online life be any different? With diaspora*’s aspects you can organize your online life as much as you want and share things only with the people you want to." (Our site has, family, friends, farm, work etc)
