Notes from Honeyflow Farm - I was so impressed with the art on this years calendar that I wanted to show the images on our website. Pat & I were sitting at our kitchen table looking at the mail & Pat was looking at the new calendar. She was very impressed and asked if "I knew all this stuff". Of course I smugly said yes of course - until later when I really looked at it.
These web pages are not the complete calendar with date info but the cover pages with all the artwork. Most of the pictures are re-arranged to better fit on a web page.

A Life Devoted to Beekeeping ResearchEva Crane 1912 - 2007Eva Crane was born in South London, England. She was educated at Sydenham School in Kent where she excelled in many subjects. A brilliant student, she completed her degree in two years from King's College, London. She then earned a MSc in quantum mechanics. In 1941, she taught Physics at Sheffield University. In 1942, during World War II, she married Names Crane who was serving in the Royal Navy. One of her wedding presents was a hive of honey bees to provide honey during this time of sugar shortage. Eva's curiosity about bees led to a life-long study of many aspects of honey bee science and practice. Her study of beekeeping history is unparalleled. |
