I hope everyone has had a peaceful January and are now forging ahead into the new year. All our yearly plans are made and in February we start to put them into place.

This is the 2nd issue this year of our monthly newsletter that will keep you up to date on all farm activities.

Although the U-Pick part of our farm is only open September to Mid October - our website is open all year!   At our Candle Shop you can purchase candles and honey products any time you wish.

We have added a "Search" window to many of our pages.

Try it and see how it works!

I want to thank everyone that has submited our survey. We are receiving some valuable infomation.

The survey will continue to run through the month of February and then in the March newsletter we will announce who the winner of the 6 inch cylinder is. We will also show the results of the survey and what changes we may make.

Am I becoming a coffee snob?

Due to the nature of my day job (at a local utility), I drive around a lot in my pickup truck. One of my first stops of the day is getting a coffee to go at various local gas stations.

I recently "discovered" Starbucks and have been going out of my way to visit them. They change their "coffee of the day" every day and I have started to write down and take interest in what kind I am drinking. I thought I never liked the dark roast blends until I tasted the Starbuck varities (I had "Sidamo" yesterday) - I have never had a bad one yet!

What do you think?

Bernard Call sent us a story of what he did last year at various vineyards.

    A SEASON IN THE VINEYARD

By: Bernard T Call (student of Viticulture/Enology Michigan State University)

This adventure in learning about Michigan wine started in the fall of 2001at Michigan State University.

This student enrolled in Chemistry and Wine Judging classes for the beginning of a two year program. My personal goals were to learn as much as possible about growing vines in the state and to then become the largest planter in the state.
