Carniolan Queens are usually black and all of their offspring are darker making the whole colony look dark.
Package bees were previously ordered and have just arrived in mid April to replace winter loss and add to our surviving colonies. Since we have permanent honeybee yards in various orchards, it is very important to have good colonies during bloom time in spring and summer.
The image shows a stack of them that we are going to install in some of our honeybee yards. We just received these in mid April and put them in our barn overnight. We will start installing them in the next few days.

A few days after they are installed we do a quick check to see if the queen has been released and she is laying eggs.
Honeyflow Farm is operated by Bill and Pat Schnute. Bill will be doing most of the posting on the site.
